Gem Box Puzzle (Hotel)

On this page, you will find the complete solution to the Lakeview Hotel basement gem box puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake (2024). The correct solution will be the same for all riddle difficulty levels.

You will find a locked safe in the hotel basement's break room. The code to it is hidden inside the gem box in the Manager's Office, but first, you must collect three gemstones.

Note: This puzzle is entirely skippable as the safe code will always be the same.

Collecting the Items

To open the box, you need to locate the three gemstones in the hotel basement:

Location of the Blue Gemstone

Blue Gemstone is in an open freezer in the Freezer Room.
Location of the Green Gemstone

Green Gemstone is on a counter in the Kitchen (accessed through the vent to the Cafeteria).
Location of the Red Gemstone

Red Gemstone is in a decorative box in the Manager’s Room (push the wardrobe in the TV Room for access).

Solution

To open the gem box, the gemstones must be placed so that the image in the center matches the painting on the wall in the same room.

Place the gemstones in the corresponding slots of the box to adjust the image:

  1. Blue Gemstone - lower left slot.
  2. Green Gemstone - upper left slot.
  3. Red Gemstone - upper right slot.

Break room safe code

Inside you will find a paper with a number that is the code for the Break Room safe. The safe code is always 7414.
