Monsters

Screamer

The most common and at the same time the weakest enemy in the game. At a distance, it uses a paralyzing scream. Sneaks up from behind and attacks by jumping on the hero's back. It symbolizes a murder victim, the creature's scream giving the association with a prison siren. For Murphy, it may also allude to Carol.

Weeping Bat

A bat of enormous size. Hanging from the ceiling and walls in the sleeping state - the same way out of close combat. Symbolizes loneliness in confinement, the need to remain invisible to others.

Doll

A stationary mannequin of an adult store. Casts Shadows that attack the protagonist (visible under ultraviolet light or at a certain angle under normal flashlight light). Traps the puppet in a trap by imitating crying. The puppet takes damage when the Shadow Puppet is destroyed. When the Doll is destroyed, the Shadows disappear. Symbolizes sexual assault. May also hint at a desire to distract from real problems, Murphy's avoidance of thinking about his tragedy.

Prisoner Minion

Другие названия: Зек-миньон драчун (Prisoner Minion Brawler), Зек-миньон рубака (Prisoner Minion Stabber)
Уровень здоровья: средний
Локации: Хиллсайд (Hillside), Перл Крик (Pearl Creek), Портовый район (Port District), Честейн Хайтс (Chastain Heights), тюрьма Оверлук (Overlook Penitentiary)
Оружие: отсутствует / лезвия

Occurs in two species: a brawler and a more agile version. Distinguished from the Prisoner Juggernaut by the metal frame on his head, stretching his face in an unnatural smile, and his body convulsions. Symbolizes the dissonance of his internal state with his facial expressions. May also allude to coleurophobia (fear of clowns).

Prisoner Juggernaut

Controls convict minions, can grab Murphy through the bars, fights with his bare hands in close combat. Symbolizes Murphy's fear of other prisoners. May also hint at Pendleton's personality changes during his time in prison.

Tormented Soul

A passive creature encountered on the hero's path during the Void Chase. It has an external resemblance to the Wall Corpse. Symbolizes the people affected by Murphy's actions. By overturning the iron cage containing these creatures, the protagonist seems to sacrifice them to the Void.

Wall Corpse

Attacks from a distance with a jet of poisoned air. A “wheeled” version is found near the end of the game. Looks similar to the Tormented Soul.

Void

A red light stalking Murphy in the Alternate World and consuming everything in its path. The only way to escape is to run. Symbolizes the void in the protagonist's soul created by guilt.

Monocle Man

A passive creature that terrorizes the hero psychologically. Symbolizes JP Sater in Murphy's perception.

Bogeyman

A punisher figure for Murphy Pendleton and Anne Cunningham. Unlike other “versions”, this creature symbolizes not the desire for punishment, but the desire to punish others - sublimating the pain of those who see it. It can also signify a person's inability to accept responsibility for their actions, shifting blame onto others.

Wheelman

A giant-sized creature resembling a disfigured emaciated body on life support, writhing in pain. Throughout the game, it is encountered as a humanoid creature in a hospital gown on a wheelchair. In Silent Hill, Ann Cunningham symbolizes the horror of Frank's memories. For Murphy, it may hint at guilt towards Coleridge.
