Interview With Thessaly Lerner (Lisa Garland) (Silent Haven)Date published: 2010.11.27
Silent Haven: What was your work prior to Silent Hill? Thessaly Lerner: I have done hundreds of Leapfrog Toys products, probably prior to and after Silent Hill. After Silent Hill, I was cast as Teen Girl in The Sims 2 franchise. I’ve done hundreds of other VO’s - my vo-focused website with my demos and credits is: www.ThessalyLerner.com Silent Haven: Have you followed the Silent Hill series since your work with the first game? Thessaly Lerner: Haven’t followed Silent Hill, but discovered Konami used my voice without asking for SH 3 - my agent sued them & got a mini-settlement. Tiny, but something. I know SH is huge and peeps love it. Silent Haven: Did you play the Silent Hill game after recording the voice for Lisa? If so what did you think? Thessaly Lerner: Never played Silent Hill - have only seen clips on youtube. Silent Haven: Has your work with silent hill been significantly different than your other work with the Sims or any of your other work? Thessaly Lerner: SH is different in that is amazing how huge it got. It was a very low-paying VO job, no hype in the project; just another job to help pay the phone bill for a month. It’s remarkable how beloved it is. Sims was ongoing - 7 yrs. SH was a 1 time gig for 1 hr. Silent Haven: Lisa had a very innocent, soft, sweet sound in her voice, was this a character that was hard to voice? Thessaly Lerner: Character was a little hard to voice, as I have a pretty high voice & they wanted me low, which I am in the mornings, but not after I’ve warmed up. I think they pitched me down a note or two. Silent Haven: If requested by Konami would you be apart of something Silent Hill again today? Thessaly Lerner: I love to work, love doing voiceovers. I would love to do anything Konami requests. Please email me about any projects with a budget, no matter how large or small. To The Downfall of Evil! |
